He'll be coding my headlights so they are 'active' soon. He lives in NYC I believe and he accessed my car via remote desktop emulation. I forget what is standard for M5 and what I had coded, I s used to having the features now. Example: turn signals in heads up display, automatically fold mirrors when locking car, dvd in motion, open/close trunk w/ fob.tons of other cool and practical stuff. From there, a qualified person, can make adjustments to the code to turn on/off or change features.įor the $200 it costs to do this, one can 'turn on' the ability to watch DVD's while driving (for my kids in the backseat) as well as a number of other great features. By that I mean the onboard computer or whatever is accessed via the ODB port using software and a laptop. There are many features that are customizable, including the above, via coding. There are a few options to be able to watch DVD's on the center screen while the car is in motion. Software for unlocking video in motion is available for all Mercedes-Benz cars with the COMAND Online navigation unit option code 527 or 512. Of course I don't look at it when I am driving, but the passengers love it! I don't know what it means to "code it" but I have the Video in Motion and I have had nothing but praise from anyone who rides with me.
